LAND ROVER WAGON Owner: Todd Rueppel
Todd's passion (obsession, may be a better word, but we like Todd...:)) to have everything done right is evident within the fine detail of this Rover. A ground up restoration isn't for everyone. While most will paint the exterior, this Rover was entirely disassembled, powder coated, re-galvanized body panels, every bolt changed, new wiring, new tires, new fenders, powder coated rims, powder coated chassis, complete engine transplant with custom installation...etc...etc...etc.....the list just goes on and on, but you get the point. This Land Rover features a unique turbo diesel engine. With space constraints due to the new power plant, there wasn't much room to route the down pipe between the frame and starter motor. A custom oval tube and inconel heat shield were in order to keep exhaust heat from damaging the starter. In addition, the intake and exhaust manifold's were ceramic coated to a bright silver which turns the engine bay into a bright star. The upgraded turbo is a Garrett GT25 water cooled and oil combination. For the type of off roads this vehicle will experience, the extra insurance of water cooling will be a definite benefit and keep things reliable for years to come.
