Stage 6- One of the largest air restrictions is the OEM pipe to the Throttle Body.  Replacing this piece will allow for smoother throttle response, less back pressure, higher HP gains when turning up the boost and an overall better running car.  This is a must have upgrade for the daily driven car to race track duty!!!

Stage 8- THE BOMB-

The best way to decrease spool time is to introduce more air efficiently  into the turbo.  Our intakes do just that!!!  Our recommendation is the larger the better and get rid of the MAF if you can, it really hurts performance and makes the turbo starve for air. 

 

Our intakes have been dyno'd with our Stage 9 (Intercooler kit) against the very popular Greddy Kit.  We have had results that brought the WOT hp down by 1000 Rpm.....yes, that's correct, 1000 Rpm....on the MRControls.com MR2 owned by RickyB.  As an added bonus, the results netted another 5 hp gain without using water injection as he did with the Greddy Kit.  Results will vary depending on your set up.

 

 Custom Polished Intake.  Fits U.S. & Gen. III engine.  Works with Apexi Power Flow Intake Filter.  Smoothes out airflow to turbo using 45 Degree geometry instead of the OEM 90 degree.  You can specify the fittings you need and silicone hose color.   Does not include filter.

 

Kit includes:  Silicone hose to turbo, silicone hose to MAF, Stainless Steel liner clamps and High Temperature Caps on all fittings just incase you decide not to use them.

Stage 9- Spearco Intercooler Upgrade

Our spec. Intercooler flows enough CFM to support 500+hp.  3" inlet/outlet. Included is a  welded aluminum fan shroud.

If you are planning on upgrading the turbo, our 3" piping is definitely that way to go.  We have found that the higher the boost you run, the larger the piping should be in order to optimize air flow and turbo efficiency.

Below is our dyno graph.

The first pull is a baseline, which uses 2.5" pipes from the turbo to the IC and a 3" pipe from the IC to the TB (red lines).  The second pull we dropped in a 2.5" pipe between the IC and the TB (blue lines). For the final pull, 3" was used for all the pipes (green lines).

Stage 10-  4"/101mm Cat Back Exhaust System

For those of you looking to make the maximum hp gain from your upgraded turbo, we have the solution for you.  Made of 304 SS, our exhaust system is without a doubt the largest exhaust system made for the Mr2.  Weighing in at 18.2 lbs. this is definitely a show piece.  Our kit also allows for plenty of ground clearance and can be shipped normal UPS ground.

Kit includes:  Polished exhaust, muffler, polished exhaust clamps, v-band clamps/flanges and hangers.

TurboHoses Titanium Muffler Exhaust

Maximize the performance of your Mr2 by minimizing the weight without sacrificing HP.

Our light weight 3" Stainless Steel  Exhaust system with Titanium muffler weighs in at 10 +/- lbs.  This dyno tested system can compete with all the dual exhausts out there.  

During our latest R&D of all the exhausts systems provided us by the local Mr2 community, we have found the use of less than adequate materials, exhaust leaks & cracked brackets/piping due to the excessive weight of dual canister type exhaust systems and design of hardware.  We recommend Stainless Steel on many if not all turbocharged applications.  Stainless Steel has a higher corrosion resistance, retains heat and lighter weight.

RickyB of Mrcontrols.com volunteered the Mrcontrols MR2 to put our exhaust to the test in 20 degree higher ambient temperature as a handicap to the Turbohoses TI exhaust vs. his current set up.  Turbohoses TI was able to sustain the same amount of horsepower during higher ambient temperatures. 

As an added test we had RickyB street drive the system for a few days.  He noted that the car handled better from losing 30lbs. from his previous system.  He was also surprised at the low dba level and a nice tone while cruising on the freeway.

Kit comes with all custom made gaskets, light weight hangers, Fully Certified Tig welded piping, light weight stainless steel flex joint, light weight clamps, brackets and Titanium muffler.

Greddy Intercooler Piping Upgrade

Fits w/ TRD Strut Bar

Our kit is a direct bolt on kit to replace the complicated Greddy Intercooler piping. 

The IC inlet pipe is 3" shorter than the Greddy, eliminates 2 of the 90 degree bends, two clamps and one less silicone hose.  The angles are much smoother and direct than the Greddy kit.

The throttle body pipe starts off by using one less silicone connector, 2 less clamps and a smoother angle to the throttle body.  Also, our pipe sits 1" lower at the point where the Greddy pipe meets the Strut bar allowing for more clearance and eliminating any rubbing issues.

Kit includes:  All silicone connectors, stainless steel liner clamps, polished  2 1/2" piping (slightly larger than the Greddy kit) beginning after the BOV pipe. 

Stage 7 (BOV pipe) fits perfectly with this upgrade.

We also have a clamp (t-bolt or constant torque clamp) and Hump Hose upgrade.

Mr2 Spearco Piping Replacement Kit

If you are unsatisfied with the quality of the Spearco Intercooler piping, this is your answer.  A bolt on replacement that dramatically  improves the aesthetics of the factory piping and overall reliability by using fewer hoses and clamps.  In addition, we have eliminated excessive angles to improve air flow and decrease the pressure drop.
